It is a great TV show that I just discovered today after randomly tried out the new series Outsourced, introduced to me by my friend Kapil earlier. I have always heard of The Apprentice, but never know that it is such a great show hosted and starred by Donald Trump.

It just makes me realize that we have to live up to reality. Life is an eternal competition. You have to be aggressive, competitive, reach out, speak up, show that you are competent and you are an invaluable asset to the organization. You have to make yourself visible, contribute ideas. You have to fight to maintain your position. It is kind of scary but it gives me some flimming idea of the tough life outside college.

God! Life is cruel. Life is rough. I have been enjoying so much tranquility in my life that now I live in an illusioned reality that life is so easy, that people care about you, understand you, serve you, try to accomodate you whenever you go.  I know I do not like that way of competitive life. I like to manage, keeping myself busy, but I do not want to confide myself within the cubicle or glassy office, always watched by supervisors and co-workers, working with numbers, data, and computers all the time. That kind of life makes me tired. So what I want? I think I want to manage projects, dealing with children, having time to travel a bit here and there, not just sitting in the office.

It is an interesting thing to see how different genders react under criticism. Same question for each team, the girls react so vehemently and aggressively. They were like tearing each other down and calling each other "bitches." While the guys seem to handle the question more calmly and with less emotional turbulation.

Think about the people joining the show. How embarrassed and shameful will they feel when they are fired on TV? Watched by thousands of people? Being judged, criticized, commented by thousands of people on all kinds of social media? It is great if one can become a winner, but for those who get fired, it would be so depressing.

I guess the toughest part of the show is the ironic and undoubtedly tense situation Donald Trump puts our contestants into. You live together, work together as a team, and then you face your teammates, having to tell everyone which one of your teammates you will fire. It would be terrible!

Yet an interesting fact about the show is it is not the original show. It is an US version basing on the original one made in the UK. So my respect for whoever invented this show fell significantly.

Isn't " You're Fired" the most horrible word to say? And he has to say it everyday?
