Self-reflection
Posted by Ngan Pham on Thursday, November 18, 2010
For the past week I have been working like a maniac. I went to class during the day, tutored every now and then between my class and my extra-curricular activities, went home at 10pm and started doing homework and working on my freaking papers. Somehow, I still manage to fit everything in my packed schedule and did well on my tests.
So today, after handed in my final Art History paper, I just felt totally relieved. I deserve a relaxing day after a chain of such hard work that I considers I was so hard on myself.
To celebrate this free day, I enjoyed my favorite shows: How I Met Your Mother, and of course... The Apprentice.
I also saw this very interesting video on preparing for interview :http://www2.goldmansachs.com/careers/begin/interview-skills/index.html
The video makes me want to reflect a little bit about myself
1. Strength
- Focused. Detailed. Organized. Efficient. Get things done. Ability to work under pressure.
- Time-management skills. Event-organizing skills. Multi-task.Technical competencies include advanced knowledge in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills (shown in my quantitative courses' results)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Personable person. Customer-oriented attitude.
- A team player and a leader. I lead by delegating and supervising. Seek to listen to contributions from all team members because I feel that is the best way to keep them motivated.
- Ambitious. Crave to learn and perfect myself. Pro self-development. Quick learner.
2. Weaknesses:
- Impatient sometimes.
- Hate repetition. Love things that are challenging and demanding.
- Not creative. Not a "thinking-outside-the-box" person.
3. Interest:
- Personal development of myself and of other people
- Entrepreneur
- Learning from successful people.
- Things that make my heart pumped or warm <3
4. Achievements
- Speaking Green Contest, 2nd Prize
- AIESEC member.
- President's scholarship to go to Winthrop. Dean's List then President's List.
5. Examples of leadership
- PM of Asian Awareness Committee. Organized 2 cultural events.
- Class project:
+ CRTW (worked well with Nina and Keisha. Delegated tasks and made timeline for group project like SEEI, group presentation. Picked up the topic, sparked the conversation, inspired group members)
+ Accounting class: set up a new business from scratch.
